The PAVRO Professional Development Team is Proud to Present:
Scarcity Mindset, the Nonprofit Industrial Complex and Other
Uncomfortable Truths that Impact How We Work and Self-Advocate as
Volunteer Engagement Professionals with Jessica Pang Parks
Thursday, September 26th at 12:00 PM ET
The session is the first of a series of two. We examine how our work is influenced by frameworks entrenched in our sector's organizing frameworks (e.g. patriarchy, white supremacy). You will be asked to challenge ways of thinking that may make you uncomfortable and learn how self-advocacy at work goes deeper than speaking up. There are opportunities in this session to discuss inter-department hierarchies and the invisible work we do as volunteer engagement professionals that often is not recognized or appreciated. The session will use Mentimeter, allowing participants to anonymously share insights and brainstorm opportunities.
