Title: Hospice and Friendly Visiting Volunteer Outreach and Training Coordinator

Employment Type: Full-time

Remuneration: $27.96 - $32.64

The Hospice and Friendly Visiting Volunteer Outreach and Training Coordinator is responsible for the recruitment, screening, education and overall management of all volunteers working with the Hospice Palliative Care and Friendly Visiting programs.

Position Summary:

  • Develops and implements volunteer programs and activities to meet identified needs, establishing goals and timelines. This includes gathering, proposing and testing ideas for new volunteer projects and program expansion.
  • Builds internal and external community relationships with organizations such as high schools, colleges, universities, co-op programs, school boards, senior hubs, churches and the community at large to expand resources.
  • Recruits, interviews and selects individuals, determining their suitability in relation to the Village’s needs and objectives. This may include developing recruitment and media relations materials.

Title: VOLUNTEER SERVICES SPECIALIST

Position Summary

Reporting to the Director, Communications, Volunteer Services and Centre of Education and Organizational Development, the Volunteer Services Specialist is responsible for providing services in all aspects of volunteer management which include recruitment, selection, onboarding, recognition and retention.

The Volunteer Services Specialist will provide leadership and direction to the volunteer program, including attracting and retaining high quality volunteers. This position will also develop, implement and evaluate of an innovative, customer-focused volunteer program. 

 As part of the Volunteer Services, Spiritual Care and Conference Place team, the Volunteer Services Specialist works in collaboration with team members to support various initiatives across the team, portfolio and hospital.
