Title: Coordinator, Volunteer Services

Status: FTE: Must provide availability of up to a 0.5 FTE

Union Status: NON UNION

Shift Schedule: Weekdays (occasional evening and weekend hours as needed). Hours are subject to change based on operational needs.

Employment Status:  Temporary Part-Time (approximately 1 year)

Site Location:  Georgetown (travel to Milton and Oakville site as required)

Salary:  $31.750 to $39.730 per hour

Job Description

You will be part of a Volunteer Services team who are very fortunate to have a diverse membership of over 1,200 volunteers across three hospitals and multiple community sites.  Our volunteers provide invaluable support to staff, credentialed staff and learners as well as a warm and welcoming experience for patients and visitors. The Coordinator, Volunteer Services will be responsible for all aspects of the volunteer management cycle for Georgetown Hospital and be involved in corporate initiatives at Milton and Oakville Hospitals, building capacity and enhancing our youth volunteer program.

Position Title:  Volunteer Coordinator

Join Habitat for Humanity Hamilton as the Volunteer Coordinator.  As a Volunteer Coordinator, you’ll be driven to provide a safe, rewarding, and engaging experience for all volunteers.

In this pivotal role, you’ll assist in planning, executing, and enhancing our volunteer programs. Your responsibilities will include leading the strategic planning of volunteer initiatives, from recruitment and onboarding to training and recognition. You'll ensure the health and safety of our volunteers in collaboration with our build and ReStore teams while maintaining comprehensive databases to track activities and measure outcomes. Your communication skills will be vital as you engage with volunteers, corporate partners, home partners, and stakeholders through various channels. You'll also provide onsite volunteer support and training, plan for and support corporate teams on active build sites, speak at community events to increase volunteerism, and contribute to our social media, website, and grant efforts. Ultimately, your dedication will help us fulfil our mission of creating a world where everyone has a safe and decent place to live.
