Position Summary for Manager, Volunteer Services
Your goal is to manage the day-to-day operational needs of North York General Hospital (NYGH) in Volunteer Services through effective critical thinking, relationship-building and communication with hospital partners, volunteers and department staff. You are proven subject matter expert in volunteer engagement and have passion for delivering impactful and volunteer-centred programming across all of the organization’s sites. You are highly organized and committed to excellent customer service and have a proven track record in mentoring and championing your team for success. You are solution-focused and embrace new challenges as opportunities to deliver quality service to our community. Responsible for the full Volunteer Development Cycle, you are able to meet the organization’s growth goals through the development and implementation of innovative approaches and a commitment to excellence. A superb communicator, you excel at building strong collaborative relationships with staff, leaders, system partners, stakeholders, and volunteers. This position supports the Hospital’s academic mandate by advancing care through teaching and learning and/or transforming care through research and innovation; and also contributes to the shared responsibility of ensuring health and safety policies are followed to provide for a healthy environment for staff, physicians, volunteers, learners, patients, and families

Job Description
You will be part of a Volunteer Services team who are very fortunate to have a diverse membership of over 1,200 volunteers across three hospitals and multiple community sites. Our volunteers provide invaluable support to staff, credentialed staff and learners as well as a warm and welcoming experience for patients and visitors. The Coordinator, Volunteer Services will be responsible for all aspects of the volunteer management cycle for Georgetown Hospital and be involved in corporate initiatives at Milton and Oakville Hospitals, building capacity and enhancing our youth volunteer program.
