Position Title: Volunteer Recruitment, Retention and Engagement Specialist
Work hours: Monday – Thursday in office – 35 hours total
Job purpose:
My client is a nonprofit that supports families and children that face cancer headquartered in North York. Their mission is to lessen the psycho-social impact of a parental cancer on children and their families. Their cancer-care supportive services help families cope with the stress of a cancer diagnosis, loss, and bereavement in the Greater Toronto area, Kingston, Barrie and Hamilton.
We are seeking a candidate that can recruit, train and engage with Volunteers and recruitment partners to promote awareness of the network. Develop and implement a robust Volunteer program to ensure the organization’s ability to deliver its mission and align with our expansion strategies. Protect the viability of the organization by ensuring a consistent flow of qualified, highly vetted volunteers.

Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator
Status: Permanent, part-time

Minimum Experience: Two years experience working with volunteers, with at least one year in a leadership capacity

The incumbent provides leadership for Volunteer administration within the Community Services Department. This includes the administration, coordination, recruitment, leadership, development, communication, and recognition of approximately 300 volunteers. Position Title: Volunteer Program Coordinator
Department: Administration

Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Director, People, Culture, and Administration, this position is responsible for the day-to-day administrative support for our volunteer program. In addition, this role acts as a ‘brand ambassador’ of The Food Bank by hosting our corporate and community engagement opportunities to increase awareness of The Food Bank, solicit donations and volunteers.
Working closely with the Volunteer Program Officer, this role will focus on recruitment, training (where appropriate), meeting the needs of our volunteers within the various areas of The Food Bank including but not limited to operations, administration, events, and engagement opportunities. The day-to-day workflow for this role directed by the Volunteer Program Officer.
The scope of responsibilities for this role will also include supporting staff throughout the organization to ensure retention of a pool of volunteers to support the work of The Food Bank. This role is an integral part of the organization and will work cross-departmentally.
