PAVRO LiVE 2020 - Postponed
It is with much regret that the board is accepting the recommendation of the Conference Committee to postpone our annual conference until the fall of this year, given the evolving global health crisis as a result of the spread of COVID-19. We have noticed that other conferences and larger gatherings are being postponed or cancelled for public health reasons, and in light of these considerations, we felt that the only responsible choice was to postpone our own conference for the time being.
*Update March 18, 2020:
With the postponement of PAVRO LiVE Annual Conference to the fall, we know that some members might be interested in using professional development funds now before March 31st, which is the fiscal year-end for many organizations. We are pleased to let you know that registration is still open until the end of March and we will keep your registration fee as a credit towards the conference in the fall. A full refund will be issued should the fall date not work for you. Register here
This year, we're taking you back to school! We have such an exciting learning plan coming together for our participants – you won’t want to miss this once in a lifetime opportunity to attend #PAVROcollege! This interactive 2 day session will actually begin more than a week BEFORE we assemble - our conference facilitators, Learn2 will be sending you homework in preparation for this premier event!
Day 1 with Learn2: Communicating Naturally - 9:30-12:30 (will be conducted as one large group involving all conference participants): Building meaningful relationships and creating strong connections are the cornerstones to great volunteer engagement. Effective communication is at the centre of both. In this opening session we will explore our natural communication approaches, learn more about others and find ways to quickly adapt our behaviour to connect effectively with them!
"You will be on your feet, learning, laughing, connecting and practicing every step of the way – you will be DOING as you learn and LEARN as you are doing!" ~ Mary Bean, Learn2
Day 2 with Learn2: Pulling it all together – That’s a Wrap! - 12:15 - 2:15 (will be conducted as one large group involving all conference participants): What better way to leave Conference than with a plan, an expanded network and a renewed connection to your work and each other! In this final session we will focus on what we have learned, make new commitments to ourselves (and each other) and use our new connections to bridge the gap to a new future for ourselves and our work! View the Communicating Naturally session description in full.
Much of our time will be spent together as a group however, there will be breakout sessions giving you four opportunities to select workshop topics you are drawn to! Details coming soon.
